G. Garvin Turns Up The Heat
a one-on-one dish with a super chef

Friday, October 31, 2008

Gerry “G” Garvin, host of TVOne’s Turn Up the Heat was one of the chefs saluted by Ebony magazine at the 3rd Annual Taste of Ebony culinary fete. Before he gathered with fellow celebrity chefs Rahman Harper, Marvin Woods, ravenous foodies and other colleagues in Atlanta to launch his Boot Camp and sample tasty cuisine, he took time out for a confidential kitchen session to answer some of our most burning questions. Bon appetit!

In reference to the above title: Elevating soul
food to the level of "cuisine", soul food is a
cuisine! Maybe what was meant ( and should have been said)was to elevate soul food to another level.

I'm about to go crazy!! There was a macaroni and cheese recipe in Ebony about three years ago. It required nutmeg, but the absolute beauty of the whole recipe was the ease and the few ingredients. It tasted fantastic. I want to make it this Thanksgiving. If anyone saved it please email it to me!! I'm forever in your debt!!! Thanks!!!
